A wedding celebrant will perform your wedding ceremony.

I will work with you to create a beautiful ceremony that is entirely bespoke to you. You’ll have complete creative freedom to make your day special.

A humanist ceremony does not include any religious content at all. Whereas with me, whether you choose to include or exclude religious elements is entirely up to you. If, for instance, your wedding will create a new blended family, you may choose to include elements from both traditions.

A celebrant ceremony will include the content you choose, including vows, rings, readings, music and symbolic elements of your choice. It may also have elements of your story as a couple in the words of your ceremony.

A registrar conducts legally binding marriages and civil partnerships. A registrar is employed by the local authority. A registrar ceremony will include your legal working, vows and rings. However they are required to place some restrictions on ceremony content and will also be fairly short.

Currently in the UK a marriage has to be registered by an appropriate church representative or registrar. When you choose a celebrant - led service you will need to arrange for a legal marriage certificate signed on a separate day, either before or after your ceremony at your local registry office.
